The SPR Research and Education Foundation

The SPR Research and Education Foundation was informally established in 1988 with a $250,000 endowment from the reserves of the SPR. The first grant was given in 1990 and it was formally incorporated in 1994.

 The mission is: 

• To assess the research and education needs of the pediatric radiology community and develop funding programs to address these needs
• To evaluate applications for funding and make grants for the research and education that will further the art and science of Pediatric imaging,
• To raise and manage the funds that make these grants possible

2010 Update  

• The Pilot Award announced - new funding program for Pedaitric Radiology. 2010 deadline extended to 4/1/2010.
• The endowment has grown to over $ 1,000,000. thanks primarily to donations from SPR members and their educational institutions.
• In 20 years of grant-giving, the SPR REF has granted 80 awards of amounts between  $1,000 and $45,000
• Grants have been awarded to 38 institutions in the United States and Canada. 

  The Campaign for Children is our optimistic effort to dramatically increase funding for research and education in pediatric imaging by growing the endowment of the SPR Research and Education Foundation.
