Description:  PCH is currently a 300 bed children's hospital and is in the process of a building project that will take it to over 600 beds. There is currently no dedicated PIR service in the southwest.The PIR fellowship at PCH is brand new. The PIR service is quickly developing in both volume and complexity and is anticipated to be the largest in the southwest in short order. Our PIR faculty is among the most experienced in the United States.

Fellowship Details

  • Type of fellowship: pediatric interventional radiology only

  • Duration:  less than 1 year

  • Number of 1 year slots: 1

  • Start date for 1 year fellowship: negotiable

  • Approximate call frequency for fellows: every fifth night

  • Elective time offered: negotiable

  • How many PIR fellows trained in past 5 years: 0

  • Prerequisite requirements for fellows: radiology residency, medical license in Arizona

Service Details

  • Number of PIR attendings: 2

  • Number of adult IR attendings with direct teaching responsibility for PIR fellows: 0

  • Number of neuroradiology or interventional neuroradiology attendings with direct teaching responsibility for PIR fellows: 2

  • Annual PIR case volume: 1000-2000
