If you have been invited, register on www.mypacs.net and upload cases (instructions below) to be discussed with your fellow SPR members. To register, go to www.mypacs.net, click the link to sign up for a free account, and then fill in the form.
At Dr. Chilton’s request, your email address will have been added to the Outreach list serv: firstname.lastname@example.org
Every SPR member who has volunteered to participate, including you, receives an email notice when a case is posted on mypacs.net (inviting them to comment) and also when another member submits a comment via the list serv. There may be times when members wish to react/comment on another member’s comment.
How To Submit A Case In Mypacs
Before submitting a case, you'll need to have the image files stored on your hard drive. They can be in any format (jpeg, bmp, DICOM, etc). If you need help getting the files onto your hard drive, please call Vivalog at 206-933-1240.
Visit http://www.mypacs.net and log in with your MyPACS username and password. If you haven't signed up for an account yet, do so by clicking "sign up" and filling in the New Account Registration Form.
Once you are logged in, click "create new case" in the blue navigation bar. This launches the Case Editor.
Enter as much info about the case as possible. The title should contain a question, such as "Possible Hematoma?"
IMPORTANT: at the bottom of the Case Properties tab of the editor is a radio button
"Solicit opinions: (*) No ( ) Yes". Be sure to change this to "Yes".
Click the Case Text tab and enter some patient history and perhaps a description of any findings that you see.
Click the File Upload tab and upload the images by clicking "Browse..." and locating the file on your hard drive. Do this for each image that you want to upload. When done, click "Upload" and the files will be added to the case.
Click "Save Changes" and you're done. In a few minutes, a link to your case will be emailed to the SPR outreach mailing list, and hopefully you will receive some comments in your email.
