Description: Goals at present are to provide sub-specialized Pediatric IR fellowship elective time for Adult IR fellows or provide basic Pediatric IR experience for Pediatric Radiology fellows. Pediatric IR and Adult IR services are integrated into one university group practice. Pediatric IR attendings provide combination of Pediatric IR, Adult IR and Pediatric Radiology fellowship background. Call distribution depends on training pathway (Pediatric Radiology or Adult IR). Niche areas include Vascular Anomalies, Percutaneous Cecostomy, and Radiofrequency Ablation.

Fellowship Details:

  • Type of fellowship: combined pediatric radiology and pediatric interventional radiology or combined adult interventional radiology and pediatric interventional radiology
  • Duration: negotiable
  • Number of 1 year slots: 1
  • Start date for 1 year fellowship: negotiable
  • Approximate call frequency for fellows: every 4th night
  • Elective time offered: optional adult IR elective time
  • How many PIR fellows trained in past 5 years: 2
  • If combined fellowship, CAQ eligible? pediatric radiology, 9 months pediatric IR, 3 months optional adult IR, 1-3 months
  • Prerequisite requirements for fellows: radiology residency and radiology board certification

  • Number of PIR attendings: 4
  • Number of adult IR attendings with direct teaching responsibility for PIR fellows: 3
  • Number of neuroradiology or interventional neuroradiology attendings with direct teaching responsibility for PIR fellows: 1
  • Annual PIR case volume: 1000-2000
