Reservations made after the cutoff date and time will be based on the room availability, and the group rate cannot be confirmed.  ROOMS ARE SELLING OUT FAST.   If you have not made your hotel reservation, it is strongly recommended that you do so at this time.  In the event that your dates of preference are not available, we would encourage you to do one or both of the following:

  1. Make a reservation at the conference hotel, Westin Bayshore Vancouver, and if you are offered to be placed on a wait list - agree to do so.  The Hotel will be able to provide detailed information on how the wait list will work.  (History shows that there are times when cancellations take place, as close as one week prior to the start of the meeting.)
  2. Book a room at a nearby hotel as an alternate option.  A list of hotels with contact information, as well as the distance from the Westin Bayshore Vancouver is listed here.  Please note that SPR does not have a negotiated room rate with these hotels.

Irrespective of your venue of choice, it will be important to understand the deposit and cancellation policies upfront.  This will also be helpful should you need to adjust your reservation.

Reservations at the Westin Bayshore Vancouver: Reserve your room by calling the Hotel directly at the number above, via the toll free reservations line at 1-800-WESTIN-1 or online here.  If you call, be sure to state that you are with the SPR Annual Meeting.  Check-in: 3:00 p.m. Pacific Time  Check-out: 12:00 p.m. Pacific Time

Traveling to Canada

New entry requirement now in effect (as noted on the website: www.cic.gc.ca)
Visa-exempt foreign nationals need an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) to fly to or transit through Canada. Exceptions include U.S. citizens and travelers with a valid Canadian visa. Canadian citizens, including dual citizens, and Canadian permanent residents cannot apply for an eTA.

The leniency period that allows travelers to board their flight without an eTA ends soon.

Be prepared: Apply for an eTA before you book your flight to Canada. Most applicants get approved within minutes. However, some applications can take several days to process so don’t wait until the last minute.

Most travelers need a valid entry document such as the aforementioned Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) or a visa to visit Canada.  This will depend on your citizenship or your situation.  For more information, click here.
