Why Stay at the Conference Hotel
The official conference hotel is the center of conference activities. It's a quick trip to get to the sessions, it provides opportunities for networking with conference attendees and it makes it easy to return to your room. That's obvious. But there are other reasons that you need to consider before you look at another hotel.

In return for the use of the Hotel’s meeting facilities, the conference guarantees the hotel that that a certain percentage of attendees will stay in that hotel. The hotel discounted the rate for conference attendees from their normal charges based on the above.  If the conference does not meet the contracted sleeping room commitment, the hotel gets paid anyway. Unfilled rooms can cost the conference thousands of dollars. Not only do these financial penalties hurt the current year’s conference, but the next conference in the series cannot negotiate as beneficial a hotel contract. In both cases the registration fee is then under pressure to increase unreasonably.

Please support the conference and the Society by staying at the

JW Marriott in Downtown Austin.

The Society for Pediatric Radiology Annual Meeting and Postgraduate Course will provide pediatric and general radiologists with an opportunity to do the following:

  • Summarize the most current information on state of the art pediatric imaging and the practice of pediatric radiology.
  • Describe and apply new technologies for pediatric imaging.
  • Describe and apply basic principles for implementing quality and safety programs in pediatric radiology.
  • Discuss trends in research concerning the care and imaging of pediatric patients.
  • Identify common challenges facing pediatric radiologists, and possible solutions.
  • Evaluate and apply means of minimizing radiation exposure during diagnostic imaging and image guided therapy.

At the conclusion of the experience, participants should have an improved understanding of the technologies discussed, increasing awareness of the costs and benefits of diagnostic imaging in children and of ways to minimize risks, and an improved general knowledge of pediatric radiology, especially as it interfaces with clinical decision making.

Community Outreach at SPR 2015

We would like to continue in the spirit of giving, this year we will be partnering with Seattle Children’s Hospital by supporting their Toy Program. The Toy Program donates new toys and personal items to patients and their families when they need help the most.

Join the SPR by donating gifts and supplies that are deemed safe for patients and their families. Donations can be brought directly to the SPR Annual Meeting. For more information on the Toy Program and donation guidelines, please visit the Toy Program website.
